The Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) Level 5 Certificate in Leadership and Management programme is designed for practising mid-level managers, helping to develop skills and experience, improve performance and prepare for senior management responsibilities.
Participants that complete the programme will be able to use core management techniques to drive better results and develop their ability to lead, motivate and inspire. They will be equipped to provide strategic leadership as well as day-to-day management, benchmark managerial skills and raise their profile within the workplace.
Employers benefit from the training of their mid-level managers as they will develop their strategic thinking and enhance the business environment. The course is designed to provide clear, measurable benefits to career-minded professionals.
The qualifications are made up of a broad range of units covering skills in six core areas: working with people, managing yourself and personal skills, providing direction, facilitating innovation and change, achieving results, and using resources. The flexibility in unit choice allows the qualification to be tailored to meet the needs of the individual and employer.
The ILM Level 5 Certificate in Leadership and Management qualification will provide progression opportunities to other qualifications including the ILM Level 5 Certificate in Principles of Leadership and Management.
This course has no formal entry requirements, but it is recommended that those who apply have an undergraduate or post graduate qualification in business, management, human resource management, psychology or a related vocational qualification.
The course is also suitable for individuals with no formal qualification in management or leadership, but several years' experience, with some formal training in their role.
The ILM Level 5 Certificate in Leadership and Management is designed for practising mid-level managers.
The ILM Level 5 Certificate in Leadership and Management programme covers project management, leadership and innovation.
The awarding body allows for a range of delivery methods, assessment approaches and content, based around pre-defined units, making this a flexible qualification.
On successful completion of this course participants will be awarded the internationally recognised ILM Level 5 Certificate in Leadership and Management.
The programme is delivered and assessed by a team of experienced individuals who have many years’ experience in leadership and management in both public and private sector environments.
They also have strong academic credentials and have worked for many years with at all levels and stages in their leadership and management career path development.
This course comprises a mix of online and face-to-face learning.
Participants will attend weekly workshops and will also access online course materials and to complete further learning and assessments.
Participants will attend one 2.5-hour workshop per week for the duration of 15 weeks.
In addition, delegates will also be expected to devote 2-hours a week to completion of the programme, including assignments.
Participants will need to undertake three assessments to complete the course, all of which are specified by ILM and each with a practical focus so that they can be applied in the workplace.
The assessments are in three areas: project management, leadership and innovation.
Delegates who complete this course will be awarded the internationally recognised ILM Level 5 Certificate in Leadership and Management.
