“I took part in the Navigator programme over a four-month period last year. The programme has helped me to evaluate my own leadership style, taking the time to step back and truly understand the good and the bad. I think initially I was expecting to be given the answers; however, Richard is a superb coach and I soon realised I had all the information and answers. The thinking differently module was especially valuable in allowing me to look at and articulate problems in a way I never had before. I have taken away skills that will stay with me throughout my career but also personally in my family life too.” - Sharon
The Navigator Programme aims to provide participants with the tools and mindset to become effective leaders within their chosen career path. Among other benefits the programme equips participants with techniques to think differently when faced with complex problems.
The programme consists of five modules delivered over three months.
Each Navigator Programme is limited to six spaces, ensuring that delegates can fully participate, contribute and feel connected to others on the programme through the online platform.
There are no formal entry requirements for the Navigator Programme. However, those in leadership roles or looking to take on more responsibility in their careers will find this programme beneficial.
The Navigator Programme is suitable for individuals who are in a leadership role and have three or more years’ experience working in an organisation (from any sector), and are seeking ways to developer innovative leadership approaches and expand their leadership peer network.
The programme is also aimed at senior managers looking to expand their knowledge of leadership and/or move into C level leadership positions.
The Navigator Programme is structured into five modules, comprising one - three teaching sessions per module.
Module one sets out why leadership is important, what key qualities are required to be effective as a leader and explores the “mission” delegates will undertake.
In addition to the scheduled elements of the Navigator Programme, participants can expect to enjoy other benefits. These include one-to-one resilience development with a personal trainer, one-to-one coaching with professional certified coach, materials to support ongoing application of learning, knowledge and ideas exchange and support from a leadership peer group.
The Navigator Programme is delivered by a team of four specialist facilitators, led by “navigator” Richard Cartlidge, a leadership development specialist and former Royal Air Force Navigator who flew Chinook helicopters and led operational missions in Bosnia, Kosovo and Afghanistan. For over 20 years Richard has worked with individuals, teams and organisations delivering leadership development programmes. He currently holds a Director position at Performance Solutions Consulting, and is a Senior Partner at Thinkistitute, both leadership development organisations.
