The Diploma is tailored for individuals managing a wide range of responsibilities or those with managerial experience aiming to enhance skills, boost personal and team performance, and prepare for senior management roles.

The Diploma builds upon the foundation laid by the Certificate, serving as an extension with an emphasis on practical application. Students collaborate with their coach to craft a Personal Development Plan (PDP), rooted in an analysis of organisational challenges, individual strengths, and areas for growth. Over the programme duration, they engage with their coach, reflecting on progress and achievements monthly. 

The programme concludes with the participants evaluation of the impact of their plan upon their organisation. These plans, reflections and evaluations form the basis of the assessment. 

There are no formal entry requirements, but  participants are typically practicing or aspiring middle managers committed to their professional growth.

The Diploma is suitable for individuals who manage teams or projects and are responsible for achieving operational or departmental goals and objectives as part of their organisation's strategy. 

The Diploma builds on and broadens the skills and knowledge gained in the certificate. Students work with their coach to develop a personal development plan, based on an analysis of the challenges faced by themselves and their organisations.  

The Diploma has seven modules: 

• Becoming an effective leader
• Managing projects in the organisation
• Understanding financial management
• Management coaching and mentoring
• Leading innovation and change
• Developing critical thinking 
• Managing your own Professional Development

In the final  unit, you will develop, work on and evaluate your own personal development plan. You will write monthly reflections on your progress and, at the end, evaluate what you have learned and how it has impacted you and your organisation, before resetting your plan for the future. 

The ideal candidate will develop their ability to lead, motivate and inspire to drive better results within their organisation.

On successful completion of this course participants will be awarded the internationally recognised ILM Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management.

The programme is delivered and assessed by a team of experienced coaches from the Academy of Leadership and Management. 

Each unit involves a number of learning activities including:

• Online learning
• Monthly tutorial sessions with your personal tutor
• Practical work based assignments
• Regular feedback from your tutor and the assessment team

All students are provided with studying membership of the Institute of Leadership & Management and Chartered Management Institute (CMI) for the duration of their course.

The programme spans 12 months and includes 13 x monthly 1-2-1 tuition sessions, conducted via MS Teams or Zoom.

Participants would be expected to dedicate between 5-8 hours per week undertaking the modules and to complete the assessments.

Assessment: one assignment per learning unit. A series of practically focused assignments based the subject theme and topics, your role, your organisation and your own development as a manager and leader. 

Participants earn 26 credits upon successful completion of this course.

Learners who complete this course will be awarded the internationally recognised ILM Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management.
